“Tulsa producer and artist Sami is partnering with local Tulsa artist to release his debut album Where I Can Sleep March 25th 2022. An in-depth edm/pop, an escapist Journey through topics of metnal heatlh, self discovery, and finding peace in it all. The debut concert will be at Notion Tulsa March 25th at 7pm.”

  • Sami, an Indie electronic artist and producer, born in Texas, raised a preacher’s kid in rural Kansas, is not what you might expect. Sami grew up surrounded by diverse musical influences such as Gospel, Country, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, EDM, and Classical. All of which come together in a unique blend that gives his music that unexpected kick. Sami knew he had growing aspirations for his future, and as such, decided to leave his small town and head for the big city, studying Music Production at Berklee College of Music. Now he is based in Tulsa, pioneering new waves as part of the New Tulsa Sound.

Sami describes his music as Indie ElectroHouse with a splash of Neo-Soul; themes wise, he writes about various aspects of the human condition: depression, suicide, love, life, and that small spark of hope we all cling to. Sami’s main goal for his music is to become anthemic for his listeners; that they feel parts of their own stories seen, acknowledged, and expressed.

Sami himself came from a small town. Surrounded by drugs and hardships. He started working at 13 to provide for himself and his family. Eventually finding himself moving to the big city to write his anthemic songs.

  • Sami an independent artist and producer and multi instrumentalist is releasing his debut 13 song album “Where I Can Sleep. It is self produced with a majority of the album being performed by Sami himself. Along the album is accompanied but amazing performances from local Tulsa Talent featuring Jasmine Taylor, Pia Adell, Zay Leon, and St. Louis based artist DLLN. He is continuing a long Tulsa tradition of self starters by releasing the album completely independent and DIY. Sami began teasing the track early this year in January with several social media posts. Later releasing the album art work and announcing the release of the albums first single and announcing the featured artist

The sound is reflective of many aspects of Sami’s influence- A little bit of EDM and electro pop in the vain of Calvin Harris or Zedd, a little R&B and Neo Soul, in the van of Kelahni or Nao, a little funk, a dash of hip hop, and with a close listen even some sprinkling of country. Relatable, emotional, and catchy as hell.

The debut single and title track“Where I Can Sleep” releases March 18th 2022. The song features the soaring strong but intimate vocals of St. Louis Based Artist DLLN. “Where I Can Sleep” is an upbeat song indicative of the entire project with its themes of pressure, depression, and escapism, and being in search of something better than where we are. A longing for the safety of the familiar but a declaration of not believing “this is how it has to be”.

  • “This project has been a labor of love for almost two years. We’ve added songs, removed songs, rewritten songs, and the album has so adapted, and matured in that time. Every song has that special moment and I’m beyond happy to have found it with this album.” Sami says “it’s been so amazing working with such incredible artists as we all share our own stories and emotions through this album. It’s really incredible hearing similar experience being shared differently by each person.”
