About Sami

Meet Sami Mills, an energetic and vibrant DJ/Producer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a house and techno producer and DJ, he weaves together an electrifying blend of sounds inspired by a diverse range of genres. Sami grew up surrounded by diverse musical influences such as Gospel, Country, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, EDM, and Classical. All of which come together in a unique blend that gives his music that unexpected kick and his makes his sets, what is often described as, an electrifying experiences.

At just 16, Sami discovered his passion for music and began a self-taught journey on an

old piano and borrowed guitar, eventually mastering over 12 instruments. His drive took

him to Berklee College of Music, where he refined his skills in Music Production and

began developing the vibrant, dynamic sound he’s known for today. Now based in Tulsa,

he’s a contributing force in shaping the New Tulsa Sound and pushing the electronic

music envelope in Oklahoma.

Describing his sound as euphoric House with a dashes of his gospel, jazz, and pop

influences thrown in, Sami draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists, envisioning

his music as a fusion of storytelling and live instrumentation in the vain of artists like

Fred Again, Barry Can’t Swim, and Zedd, Euphoric House and UK Garage inspired beats,

and the haunting melodies of Ballad pop. Through his songwriting and production, Sami

delves into the complexities of the human experience, exploring themes of depression,

love, life, and the enduring pursuit of hope. With a profound desire to connect with his

audience on a deep emotional level, Sami's ultimate goal is to create anthems that

resonate with listeners, validating their own stories and emotions. As he puts it, "I make

music to sound happy, and I DJ to make others happy.

Sami’s signature sound as a DJ is frequently described to be “as manic as he is”.

Fearlessly drawing from across genres to create a unified and coherent tapestry of

sound. Attending a Sami set will be a gamble of hearing Afro house, Afrobeat, Tribal,

and Amapiano, or you might hear ghetto tech, deep or peak techno, euphoric DnB

bassline, or bass house. On the flip side Sami is pushing the envelope forward in

Oklahoma for Vogue/Ballroom as both a DJ and Producer.

This past year has been a busy one for Sami consisting of almost 230 performances.

Including is monthly residencies at St. Vitus, and The Tulsan. He has also been a party

maker in the region both alone and with his group Tak3 Away - a DJ collective of himselfUnnevn and Vylan. As well as with The 2Witnesses - a frightning, and ass throwing,

religious themed duo with DJ Foxy. Some of the notable events on the resume this year

include: representing Tulsa at SXSW, Save Your Love @ Vanguard, ASLUT Halloween,

Sundaze, Open Aire, ASLUT Pride, a small oklahoma based tour, multiple kiki balls, and

Walk 4 Me Wednesday, the only mid week vogue party in the state. As well as opening

for national touring acts such as SoDown, TwinSick, Oliver Smith, and Neon Prairie
